Ms. Faïza Riach, director of the Center for Arts and Culture at the Palace of Rais Bastion 23, participated on Thursday, June 15, 2023, in the opening of the Algerian Pavilion, the guest of honor at the 29th edition of the Beijing International Book Fair, in the presence of:
– His Excellency Mr. Hassan Rabahi, Ambassador of Algeria to the People’s Republic of China,
– The head of the Algerian delegation, Mr. Mohammed Sidi Moussa, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Culture and Arts,
– A member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and Minister of Communication of China, as well as the President of the Chinese Publishers Association,
– Officials from the Chinese book export and import company,
– An elite group of Algerian writers and intellectuals.
The official inauguration of the Algerian Pavilion, the guest of honor at the Beijing Book Fair, was marked by a guided tour during which the Algerian delegation presented the participating titles to the visitors, as well as the Algerian experience in the field of publishing and reading. In addition to this event, the Algerian delegation also showcased various photos and performances representing Algerian culture, as well as the different forms of art and creativity that Algeria is rich in.
It should be noted that the 29th edition of the Beijing International Book Fair, where Algeria is participating as a guest of honor, and where Ms. Riach, the director of the Center for Arts and Culture at the Palace of Rais Bastion 23, is present, will conclude on June 18, 2023.
