Within the framework of Algeria’s hosting of the fourth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair 2025, the Arts and Culture Centre at Kasbah Riace was honoured by the visit of the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Francisco Chapo, who was accompanied by the Minister of State and Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Mohamed Arkab, who was received by the Director of the fortress, Dr Faiza Rayache.
This visit was an opportunity to learn about the different stages of the history of Algerian architecture in general, and the history of Qasr El Rayas in particular, which is a rare architectural masterpiece and a living witness to the historical depth of the Kasbah of Algiers, especially from the sea, where it stands out as one of the most important defensive fortresses that today have turned into an impregnable fortress of Algerian culture.
The President and his accompanying delegation were also briefed on an exhibition by visual artist Siraj Bouhafs entitled ‘Mother Africa’. This cultural stop was an opportunity to emphasise the common African dimension and the values of fraternity, cooperation and history of struggle that unite Algeria and Mozambique.
At the end of the visit, the President signed the golden register of the Palace of the Sea Rayas and received a symbolic gift from the Director, expressing his sincere thanks and pride in learning about the glorious history of Algeria and appreciating the warm hospitality he and the accompanying delegation received.
