♦️Under the patronage of the Minister of Culture and Arts, Dr. Malika Bendouda, the Arts and Culture Center at the Palace of the Sea Leaders – Fortress 23 hosted a study day organized by the Research Center in Archeology, under the supervision of the Directorate for the Legal Protection of Cultural Property, titled:
“Archaeology and Its Role in Serving Sustainable Development: Readings on National Experiences,”
With the participation of a select group of professors and researchers in the field of heritage and archeology, alongside representatives from several relevant official bodies and institutions.
The program began with an opening speech delivered by the center’s director, Dr. Faiza Riaach, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of integrating the archeological dimension into sustainable development pathways.
Next was the speech by Her Excellency the Minister, delivered on her behalf by Mr. Bounouara, Director of Legal Protection of Cultural Properties at the Ministry of Culture, in which he reiterated the ministry’s support for scientific initiatives aimed at preserving national memory and valuing tangible heritage.
The study day included a series of valuable scientific presentations delivered by specialists, professors, and representatives from official institutions. These presentations covered various topics related to national experiences in documenting heritage, ways to integrate archeological data into local development projects, as well as showcasing successful models of partnerships between scientific institutions and stakeholders in the field of heritage preservation.
The day’s activities concluded with an open discussion and exchange of views among the participants, emphasizing the need to strengthen cooperation between institutions to protect national heritage and highlight its role in achieving sustainable development based on identity and culture.
